For those not in the know, http://VeniceCommunityCleanups.org is a wonderful organization founded and operated by Christopher Lee. They schedule and organize cleanups of select areas every other weekend on average. They have a calendar of events at the bottom of the page as well as a contact form if you would like them to request a specific area to be cleaned.
I implore everyone to check them out and donate a morning of a Saturday to help out. It is a small donation of time that sends the right message to all that there are those making an effort.
